Canvass continues to night Sunday at the usual time of 6.30pm.
Meeting point is the Clybaun Hotel.
As you know Knocknacarra is quite a big area and I would like to knock on as many doors as possible so if you are free tonight to canvass I would really appreciate your help. I will try not to work you too hard!
Also one on the main local issues which comes up at the doors is the Community Centre at Knocknacarra.
This is a wonderful facility which is now open albeit at restricted times for the moment.
But together we have fought a long and difficult battle to have it constructed in the Cappagh Park where is should have gone in the first place. But it took 3 local elections, 7 different City Manager/Acting City Managers and I think four or five different locations to achieve that. If anyone would like to know the background and the nature of the battle just go through the historical blogs and press releases on my website.
Now the battle is to keep the operation of this beautiful Community Centre in public ownership and also to have maximum open hours.
