Press Release 23rd April
Councillor Connolly welcomes-One Stop Shop-to facilitate people to register on the Supplemental Electoral Register on both Friday the 2nd May and Tuesday the 6th May.
Cllr Connolly said she very much welcomes the ‘One Stop Shop’ initiative by the City Council to allow people to register on the Supplemental Register of Electors.
She said for anyone not registered there is still time to go on the Supplemental Register up to and including Tuesday the 6th May which is the final date to register!
She said some years ago she tabled the motion that prior to all elections the City Council would hold a ‘One Stop Shop’ to facilitate those who were not registered to vote and this motion was unanimously accepted by all Councillors.
In this regard the City Council have now confirmed that a ‘One Stop Shop’ will be held on Friday the 2nd May and Tuesday the 6th May in the reception area of the City Council on College Rd and the relevant City Council official and a member of the Garda Siochána will be present all day between 9.30 am and 4pm.
If you are normally resident in Galway you simply need to turn up on either of these days at City Council with proof of identity (preferably photo ID and house bill) and fill out the appropriate form.
She said it could not be simpler!
